PEOPLE SAY THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST GE SONG....But I don't think its even in the top 5......Everything on "Legit" is better in my opinion.........I was 'desperate' to 'get a record deal'....when this was being worked on........still, I never imagined the song could have come out this GOOD ! ....PACKED WITH BIG GUITARS AND SHOCKING LYRICS............NO OTHER BAND CAN CLAIM A SONG LIKE THIS..............THIS IS THE APEX OF THE UNIQUE SOUND THAT WAS ONLY GE.............
Rush mixed and re-put out on sale at Go-Boy Records again in May of 1992 (nearly one year after it was actually recorded !!) ,...four more songs would be recorded in June and "Agenda" was born....
To this day, it is weird and such a bummer that this thing was not released back when it really was originally recorded in 1991's summer better organized ( A semi-response to the media coverage of the Rodney G. King beating from may 91)...but , Ironically, I was afraid as it was so politically charged and controversial...

WELL.....THERE WOULD REALLY BE NO WAY TO TALK ABOUT GE WITHOUT MENTIONING THIS SO CALLED 'LIGHTNING ROD' OF A SONG....CLEARLY , THIS THING IS UP THERE WITH 'STAR' AND 'BEN' ...BUT IT GOES PAST THEM TO BEING ONE OF GE'S FEW REALLY 'RADIO FRIENDLY' POP TYPE SONGS....BUT THIS THING IS FILLED WITH SUCH ATTACK, PRODUCTION AND FIERCE MELODY....IT IS IRRESISTIBLE AND ALWAYS GETS A SHOCKED RESPONCE AND ANOTHER SEVERAL LISTENS......PEOPLE AROUND THE SOUTH BAY, USED TO THREE CHORD PUNK ROCK FROM THE LOCAL BANDS....COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS THING DROPPED OUT OF TORRANCE CALIFORNIA...BUT IT DID...IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE GARAGE AT 251....I REMEMBER JUST STRUMMING IT FOR TED.....AND PLAYING IT SINGING IT OUT LOUD AND HE SAID..."THATS THE BEST SONG YOU'VE EVER WRITTEN......Thats Hot !!"...I remember I wasn't quite so sure myself...though i knew it was a"Hit" ....I did not like those verse chorus verse types of songs with structure.....Thats what has always bothered me about "White/Black" as it is known.........Produced and mixed by Bully Krodel at Jet City Sound Studio in El Segundo Calif on June 7, 1991.........its three and a half minutes of pure politically incorrect terror theatre of the sharky most absurd....Like "Coke Snorting Love Boys" before it...it coins its own unrepeatable "Sharky" mantra 'NO MORE WHITES ...NO MORE BLACKS...WE'RE ALL STUCK HERE"......I have been threatened over this song by more than several black people who say..."You can't Say that"..."Thats offensive"..........WELL............IN 1991 & 1992 I WAS 26 AND PRETTY NAIVE...........THANK GOD ALMIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Note; Back in the day in Torrance and Hermosa Beach, White people didn't particulary like this song either as i recall !!!!
Released at GoBoy Record store in Redondo to horrified stunned customers over via loud speakers June 91' as a 'pre-test' ,....it didn't go over so well,..though i must admit,..the racks sold out !! Mark Theodore calls this Song "The G.E. 'enigma" enema !!" ,..and he sold out his copies at Alternative groove in two days flat !!
