This grande highly complicated opus is recorded near the end of the grande days of the "Flipper phase" of G.e. when things were starting to go heavy metal more and g.e. were fumbling around doing really dumb things like experimenting with four piece ! The g.e. egos were now big at this time as they had heard a few roars from crowds and gotten more than enough pats on their collective backs for their bizzare psychedelic studio craft.....it was all too agrivating for a guy named Clark the Shark who would soon set out on his own merry path of glory and he would take Ted with him too !

One of my favorite G.e. songs here just because of how bizarre and over involved in it'self it is. This very long for g.e. song has tons of complicated over-dubbed guitar work by Flipper. And in 1990, this song sets the tone for the whole decade as it introduces to the world that terrible much imitated later "Eddie Vedder Voice"...the mystical Shark yet again somehow sees the future of rock here and he bellows out in the studio an Axl meets Ozzie meets Joe Cocker annoying barritone which seems to want to display 'authority"....ofcourse we all know now that Shark would soon ditch this vocal and the Flippers big hard rock guitars in favor of a return to the early Shark musings of bubbly guitar pop of Bowie and the Beatles and Rush and songs like America the Beautiful and Dead End Street and others more to follow which would grow in sophistication like White Black......but this highly sophisticated complicated and hard rocking G.e. track really is its own masterpiece as it is long and drawn out. Ted holds it together with his usual energy bass and the drumming here from Shark is first rate as he demonstrated faking double bass with his flim flams of a single bass pedal and the floor tom! This song is as if somebody just took a shit on the Edge from u2 as he was midway through one of his over electrophied highly digitized and effects enhanced laiden jams. Way before Pearl Jam or Soundgarden or Alice in Chains became popelar; GE WAS POPULAR !! ...AND this song is why !!
