Written in late 1990/1991 as part of that 'early batch' of post -Flipper GE.........this all came from a guitar lick i wrote way back in 1986 !!!!!!!!! Ted plays a role here ! An aborted rock opera project from 1991 ...which actually continued from 1986...came from me writing a myopic story about a bum from San Pedro named 'Maury" who fought in like the gulf war or somethin' ...only to come home and be homeless.....There was this really cute chick from Torrance that I was in love with ....but I could never quite ask out....(I could only ask out chicks really really drunk...I'm that much of a geek!)..I heard she moved to San Pedro and lived on "22nd Street" and thats--- believe it or not...where the name of this song and most of its idea comes from ,,,,,,,,,,I SWARE TO GOD ! ...AND YOU PEOPLE THINK YOU GOT ISSUES !
THERE IS A CLIQUE OF PEOPLE WHO SAY 'THIS' IS THE BEST GE SONG.........OH PEOPLE C'MON STOP IT...PLEASE........This is really really Good...but its hardly in a class with the best of GE !....AGAIN, JUST LIKE 'BRANDY' the Morrisey, Cure-Clash 80's u2 crowd delights in this epic of a song.........Loaded with studio effects and guitar tricks......its a hell of a journey...not exactly psychedelic...its more Sardonic and depressing......HEY MAN ..LIKE I SAID; GE CAN DO IT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WANT CROWDED HOUSE OR AHA ??? WE CAN DO A SONG LIKE THAT....YOU WANT THE GRATEFUL DEAD...WELL GE CAN DO THAT TOO !
